Price: $20.00
Pros: - Completely changes your brewing vs. not having software - Very automated and makes all of the hard calculations for you - Very intuitive and easy to navigate through after one session
Cons: - Looks dated - Doesn't have all of the most recent malts/hops in the database, so sometimes you have to manually enter them into the database (which isn't hard, it's just a pain)
Recommended? Yes

Comments: This is the only brewing software I have tried, but I love it. I can't imagine another product doing it better than Promash. My only gripe is that the graphics are outdated.

It is easy to run and navigate -- it is VERY intuitive. And does all the number crunching that would take you hours otherwise.

This thing is also a very efficient application -- so it should run on low-performing computers as well.

The Sausalito Brewing Co. ProMash
Price: $15.00

Comments: I use this every time i brew. The recipe database is complex enough but if i need to add specifications for a grain or hop variety which isnt included, its easy to do. Has calculations for gravity, mashing, unit conversion, strike temp and dilution caluclations plus a bunch of other ones. Its very helpful

Comments: The web site looked as if it hadn't been updated in awhile, which made me look at other products and eventually decided upon Beer Tools

Cons: Need to input newer malts, hops, yeast

The Sausalito Brewing Co. ProMash
Pros: anything you need
Cons: takes some getting use to, some of the ingredents are old
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I have just started to use ProMash and I liked it so much I purchased it. It can be hard for a new user to understand all the settings and how to use them. It doesn't have every ingredent listed so you will have to had the one's that are not listed, (not a big deal). All in All a very useful tool that is extreamely handy for the bhomebrewer.

The Sausalito Brewing Co. ProMash
Pros: Every tool ya could want and then some.
Cons: Takes a little while to understand the finer points.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: A must for any all grain brewer. I find myself using this software almost daily. Really great for things like figuring out the amounts of water needed, efficiency, gravities, hydo temp adjustments and more. The interface may be a little 'clunkie' but it was still worth every cent.
