Pros: Easy to learn, intuitive program, reasonably priced for what it does
Cons: It's not a Mac app.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Love being able to arm chair brew and design and play with recipes before brew day. Love costing out my recipes and being able to maintain an inventory and shopping list. My PC had to go out for service so I used Alchemy and Suds in the meantime.
I truly missed Beersmith - it's a great investment and I wouldn't brew without it. Hey Brad, any chance of a Palm OS mini version?
I took a quick look at Promash, but I didn't want to have to study that hard to understand how to use the program. I was able to use BS with very little effort or study time.

Comments: BeerSmith is cool, but I am thinking of switching to something else. I haven't played with it quite enough to make that decision though.

Pros: Cost, features, simplicity of use. Custom equip profiles rock. Calendar/Brew Log view is awesome. Brewsheets are awesome.
Cons: Missing a few new hop varieties, I guess? Could be slightly more low-res friendly?
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I *LOVE* BeerSmith. Prior to buying it, I used the 1-month trial of ProMash, I tried out open-source SUDS, I tried BeerTools online, and I just didn't like any of them. So I downloaded the 30 day demo of BeerSmith, and was sold within 7 days. Plus, Brad is a HBT member!

GREAT method of sorting recipes, tracking dates on a calendar (Brew Log), easy import/export, and tons of ingredients pre-loaded. Adding new ingredients is super-easy via the updated lists available on the BeerSmith page, I just wish the newest hop varieties were on there.

All in all, I am useless without my copy of BeerSmith, it has done truly great things for my ability to create and refine recipes, as well as track and keep notes on the brews I've done. A+ software!!!

Comments: Love it. The one thing I wish it had was an easier way to look at *all* my notes for all the brews. Kind of like an 'At a Glance' feature, more like notebook style.

Pros: Really helps with the numbers side to brewing. Constantly being upgraded, so it stays current unlike other brewing software which seems stale.
Cons: Needs to be tweaked after the initial setup and a couple of brews. This is not really a negative but...

Comments: Love this program and after I got my brewery clocked in with it have not used anything else. Out of all the brewing software I tried, I really liked this interface better. The fact that the writer is a member of the forum pretty much put the last nail in the coffin for me and I paid up. For close to $20 there is nothing I have seen comparable. I highly recommend you try it.

Pros: Easy to use Windows Explorer type interface
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I use this all the time now for keeping a log of what and when I brew.
Formulating new recipes and tweaking existing ones.
It's easy to load other peoples recipes and convert them to you type of brewing.
It generates a brewing schedule for brew day.
I tried all the other major software and stuck with this one.

Pros: Great Interface. Brewsheet rules!
Cons: It is not free. Ingredient updates would be nice.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I have used this SW for about 4 months (about 4 beers), but I've designed several more than that - just have to make time to brew them all! The brewsheet feature makes it a snap to print out an easy guide for brewday. All temp calculations were perfect for AG brewing. The interface beats promash's quirky oldschool one, and the trial is fully-functional for 30 days. Stop reading this review and download it now!
