The Coopers Micro Brew Kit is a great way to get started in home brewing. It comes with EVERYTHING you need to brew your first batch except water. The fermenter is worth the price of the kit alone.

This got me started. Since then I've added another fermenter and secondary Better Bottles, but I still use all the equipment that came in my original kit.

This can be found for 65-80 bucks. Not bad for a starter setup.

Pros: Easy, has everything you need, fermenter is top notch (tho' they recently changed the design)
Cons: None that I can think of
Recommended? Yes

Comments: The ease of the kit got me back into brewing after a several year absence. It is worth the expense for the first timer or returning brewer as you get absolutely everything to brew the 1st batch except the sanitizer (and if you have some bleach in the house you already have that).

Pros: The Cooper's "micro brew kit" gives you nearly everything you need to make 23L (6.072 gallons) of beer. The micro brew fermenter is one tough unit! the lid refuses to blow off, will hold high krausen pressures. And the hydrometer is really easy to use/read. The OS lager kit with the brewing sugar supplied made a nice,malt-forward English style pale ale,due to the ale yeast provided. Good, solid kit!
Cons: I think the instructions could be more exacting, insomuch as the yeast's "ideal" brewing temps are concerned. And I think some small amount of sanitizer could be included. But that's my opinion. I also don't care for the "S" type airlock,it's a bit harder to clean & keep filled evenly.

Comments: All in all, this is a really good kit to get started in home brewing. You get a good, solid fermenter that can definitely take some pressure. They even give you bottles & caps, which many don't! The 740ml PET bottles clean really easy, are brown to help keep light from skunking the beer,& the screw on caps are reusable!
Plus, you only have to clean 30 bottles. Another interesting thing to do with the bottles,is that the box the whole thing comes in is just the right size to store those 30 bottles of beer once they're filled! Just close the box,& put'em away for 3-4 weeks to carbonate/condition. That was a very cool aspect.
And the OS lager kit is great for adding things to make it better,or even different. So it can easily be used to experiment with. And the fermenter can be used for any kind of beer brewing, from all extract to all grain. I say buy this one,the fermenter alone is way better than snap lid buckets.

Cons: none

Comments: This is a great starter kit. The instructions are clear and simple. I was able to brew the same day I bought the kit. The only thing not in the kit is the sanitizer, everything else is included.

Price: $109.99
Pros: As a first time brewer this kit has everything you will need. The only thing you will supply is water and your own time. The fermenter alone makes this kit!!
Cons: Non at all. Everything was so easy to use! I don't think there could be another kit on the market so 100% perfect for new brewers!
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Bought this kit after reading up on home brewing online and watching some youtube videos. I was really expecting a low quality product since everything was included for $109.99 on Amazon with Free Shipping, but to my surprise everything in the kit was top notch! I now have 30 bottles primed and waiting to be drunk and a new batch of Ale sitting in the fermenter!! This is a GREAT way to get into brewing!!

Pros: 109.99 on Amazon.com (free shipping to Alaska). Everything I needed was in the box. I ordered it on Monday and got it on Friday and on Saturday it is all mixed and fermentation has began.
Cons: Nothing yet.

Comments: I just received this kit yesterday and within two hours i was done with everything. The closet I have been to homebrewing beer is drinking it. For having no experience at all I found the process very enjoyable.

Pros: Everything you need in one box....
Cons: Don't know enough to give it a bad review...
Recommended? Yes

Comments: After years of wanting to brew, this kit got me to actually do it...

The box included everything to get started:

Fermenting container, graduated with a screw on lid (predrilled for the airlock)
Spout with sediment reducer
Plastic airlock with rubber washer
Plastic bottles and caps
Thermometer (sticker for the fermenting container)
Long plastic mixing spoon
One container of extract with a Coopers yeast packet
1kg of brewing sugar
Carbonation drops...(looks like hard candy)

The dvd and printed instructions are straight forward and will have you impatienly waiting for your beer before you know it.

CHEERS!

Coopers Micro Brew Kit
Price: $85.00
Pros: all inclusive kit for the beginner, easy to follow DVD, easy to purchase kits and replacement parts from the website
Cons: Can't purchase seperate additional fermenter
Recommended? Yes

Comments: This is the kit that got me started in home brewing. I received the kit from my wife as a Christmas gift in 2008. It has everything you need to get started including the 23L fermenter, air lock, Australian Lager kit, 30 22oz PET bottles and caps, carbonation drops, DVD, and complete instructions. I haven't reviewed other kits on the market, but I would think it would be difficult to match the quality and completeness of this one.

Comments: First Time Brewing. Instructions seem simple enough, but for a first timer such as myself I really want to someone to hold my hand and walk me through the entire process. I felt as though, some small details were left out. Beer is currently fermenting (5th day inside Fermenter).

Coopers Micro Brew Kit
Pros: Price & Quality. You get a lot for the money and the pre-hopped beer extracts are quite tasty
Cons: The instructions that come with the kit all say to ferment at one temp (21-27C...which is high) but then even their own website says 21C is the best to ferment at.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I picked up my Coopers kit for $70 2-3 months ago. I made the lager following the Coopers instructions to the letter (including the higher fermenting temps). 1 week in the fermenter + 2 weeks in the bottle = good beer. It was better after 4 weeks in the bottle. Since then I've bottled a Coopers Bitter and started up a Coopers IPA. And I look forward to many many more.

Coopers Micro Brew Kit
Pros: Includes everything needed to make your first batch.
Cons: I honestly can't think of a negative aspect
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I just got started in home brewing and I took a look at all the popular kits available. This was the best for the money. Price is good considering the size, enough bottles to bottle a full batch, extract, yeast, corn sugar, bottles, hydrometer, etc. Don't settle for a 2 gallon kit.

I'm now enjoying my first batch of Lager. Very tasty. I'm already wondering what my next batch should be. This fermenter, valve, bottling valve is a great value. I highly recommend.
