Price: $110.00
Pros: Includes everything you will need and even a few extras.Good quality items such as buckets, better bottle carboy, bottle capper and items overall well made
Cons: Lacked instructions on a few parts and correct assembly. Bottling wand did not work well(leaked)
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I enjoy this equipment. It will serve me for years to come. My environment limits the types of brews I can produce. With this kit,I am able to focus on extract and partial grain brewing. Everything included was of high quality, with the exception of the bottling wand. That did not seem to maintain a good seal at the valve and leaked everywhere during a water test run. I managed to attach a length of hose to the spigot and that worked just as well. The bottle capper worked tremendously well ensuring a good seal on my bottles. I am happy I can brew many different types of extract and partial grain kits with almost no limit using this kit. For the money spent and the gear included you could really work from beginner to intermediate home brewer and get many years out of these products. I sincerely doubt I will ever move away from partial grain kits and all extracts,so I feel that this equipment will do great. Packaged very well,no missing parts.Had to attach spigot to bottling bucket which can be a bit tricky and take some effort. I rate this kit 1002BB, A 5/5 for ease of use, quality of equipment, and most of all Cost. You will NOT be disappointed

Price: $113.00
Pros: Two 5 gallon Ale Pales and 1 Better Bottle Carboy
Cons: Hydrometer difficult to read
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Really cannot review as this is my first attempt at homebrewing. The kit seems to meet my needs right now, but I really don't have anything to compare it to.

With that being said, I am going to state from an economical stand point the novice brewer is getting a value for thier money. I have everything I need to brew and bottle my first batch of homebrew for under $200.

Price: $105.00
Pros: It had almost everything I needed to brew my first beer and the directions were easy to follow.
Cons: I wish it had Star San instead of One Step.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone just starting. I had no brewing experience before and made a good first beer. I still use much of that kit 8 brews later.

Price: $95.00
Pros: Has everything I needed to get started other than a kettle
Cons: The spigot for the bottling bucket leaked right away
Recommended? Yes

Comments: The kit I bought is the #1002 which is the deluxe one. I have used every piece of equipment that it came with, so nothing useless is included. I used the bucket for primary on my first and borrowed a carboy from a friend for my second and definately prefer the carboy to the bucket. So really that's the only bad thing is that it comes with a bucket for primary and not a carboy.

Pros: Great starter kit, everything I needed!
Cons: none yet
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Picked up this kit off craigslist for a great price! It has been a wonderful and very easy way for me and my wife to start brewing - has everything we needed to get started (besides the corny keg, lol )

We plan on sticking with this kit for around a year and then moving on. We shouldn't have the need to purchase any additional equipment until we're ready to branch out!

Price: $110.00
Pros: Includes everything you need to get started and the parts will continue to serve you after you buy other equipment
Cons: The siphon hose could use a better stopping mechanism. The simple plastic hose clamp needs to be squeezed very tight to cut off flow and wears out quickly.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I have used this equipment in about 5 batches so far. The parts are sturdy and have served me well. The fermenting bucket and bottling bucket are interchangeable so you can decide which one to use in what situations. The racking cane is a life saver and the siphon hose fits into the air-lock port on the top of the fermenter so it can be used as a blow-off tube in an emergency (I know from experience). I have even used the bottling bucket, along with a large grain bag, as a lauter tun for a 3 gallon all-grain batch. This equipment is good for a beginner kit, but it will also continue to be part of your arsenal for a long time afterwords.

Pros: Everything you need to get started, minus a brew pot.
Cons: No thermometer, Syphon is not an Auto-Syphon so it needs to be primed to start it.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: All in all a very good kit. Add a brew pot and a thermometer and you're up and running.

Pros: cheep, "Home Beermaking" by william Moore and everything else needed hydrometer, racking tube etc.
Cons: no brew pot or glass carboy, but the glass carboy isn't a total starter necesity, and for the price you cant expect a pot and carboy.
