Comments: Have used this for two different batches of beer and have been very happy. Takes about 15 minutes to cool 4 gallons to 80 degrees. Easy to use and easy to clean. Also is very helpful at oxygenating my wort by dunking up and down while cooling.

Pros: cheaper than making one
Cons: didn't cool too fast
Recommended? No

Comments: I received this as a birthday present and recently tried it on two extract partial boil (3 gal) brews. Was not dropping the wort temp as quick as in the sink with ice water. I only had about 3 coils in the wort which probably would make a huge difference if I was boiling more more wort. For what i need i think i will stick to the ice bath.

Price: $39.99
Pros: Price, great for the beginner, who doesn't want to spend a ton.
Cons: Only 25' of tubing, if you are doing big batches, this isn't enough.

Comments: After looking at the local hardware store, and the cost of copper, I descided to buy a chiller. This was the cheapest one I could find, I compared it to the ones my LHBS had, and this was by far the most resonable price I could find.

I was plesently suprised at when I got it. I expected the fittings to not be very good, and that I would be getting a very cheaply made product. That was not the case, the fitting that attaches to the hose, is a very solid brass peice, with a nice o-ring for sealing.

For someone who is just getting into brewing, this is a great way to start. Having a wort chiller should be a must for everyone, and those on a limited budget, can not go wrong with this peice.
