Price: $86.00 Pros: Cheap, big, seems to be durable Cons: Big Recommended? Yes
Comments: I have, I believe this same kettle. Mine came with a giant lift out strainer which i havent figured out a good brewing use for yet, except for storing stuff in. Purchased at Sam's club for 86.00. Seemed to be okay. Fairly thick walls. The handles have supported two 13 gallon batches of wort so far without issue, however I fully intend to install a valve or two and not pick the thing up when it's full anymore.
Worth mentioning is the fact that a very large burner is probably a good idea with this. I bought the Bayou classic banjo burner. So although the pot was pretty cheap I did end up spending a bit more on an appropriate burner. Also, I'm a bit nervous about brewing 5 gallon batches because the liquid level is about 4 1/2" deep with five gallons. I therefore have only brewed 10 gal batches so far, which means the recipes cost more too.
On the flip side, I think I'll have enough beer now that it won't all be consumed before its time.
