Blichmann - Top Tier Burner
Product Information
I did lots of research trying to find the best burner for 5 - 10 gallon boils, so I chose the Blichmann burner. I must admit, I had no idea how big, heavy, and well constructed it was. The burner weighs in at just under 30 Lbs. and easily fits my heavy duty 15 gallon kettle from MoreBeer. I will give this a test run in a few days and check back here to let you all know how well it performs. The great thing is, Blichmann spared no expense making the frame out of heavy guage stainless steel, so no rust or paint fumes.

Price: $140.00 Pros: Works great with natural gas. Unit adjusts to size of kettle. Cons: none Recommended? Yes
Comments: Installed in basement with the natural gas kit. Hooking up was no problem and was running soon after hookup. I like that I can adjust the top to fit the side of kettle. All in all I am very happy with this burner

Price: $139.00 Pros: Hands off once temp is set Cons: none Recommended? Yes
Comments: This burner is great! Great construction, clean burning and hands off once set. This burner also seems very efficient on propane, I get 5 or 6 brew sessions per tank. The extended legs are the perfect height and a 6 gal pail or carboy fit under for transfer after the boil.

Price: $120.00 Pros: Awesome burner, huge surface area, built to last. Cons: Drinks fuel, lighting can be tricky, hard to run at low heat temps. Recommended? Yes
Comments: Not for the faint of heart, this thing *will* take the hair off of your arms at least once before you get the hang of it. Beyond that, it is the best high-pressure gas burner you can buy. I've got two.
