Default You know it's cold out when...

Your asphalt driveway cracks from the heat of the wort chiller hose.

Wow........That is crazy. Never would have even considered that as a possibility.

I was going to say:
When you open the door for your little pug dog and she looks you square in the eye and ****s on the floor right in front of you, and walks away........like mine did this morning.

I feel better about cleaning up a dog turd already.

It was -25 outside when I realized not only was it cold enough in my basement to lager but I think I could have ice distilled my beer as well.

Ice beer for sure! It was -9F when I got up this morning, looks like arctic tundra with the wind howling a bit outside right now. It would've been a good time for brewing my hybrid lagers atm if I had the cash flow. WL029 yeast likes it cooler to where initial ferment temps stay around 65F or so.

That's funny, I noticed the crack as I was setting out some jugs of cider to freeze overnight.
