Default For you Carolinians, Highland's new brew!

Highland Brewing Company came out with an Organic beer called Black Mountain Bitter. Lightly hopped with British Hop varieties balance the maltyness, that makes a very dry beer. It is organic so if you are a fan of that you will probably like this beer.

I didn't really think it was all that great, I drank the whole 6 pack but prefer thier other beers over this new seasonal. I am sure this beer will do well in Asheville proper, but not in other areas they distribute such as Atlanta, Knoxville, and Charlotte, they don't has as large of hippy pop as Asheville.

Anyway, try it out, not a terrible beer.

Sounds like I could actually enjoy that one. Hopefully it gets distributed down here. I'm not a huge fan of their other brews so hopefully the dryness of this one makes it a little more bearable.

Damn. I just moved from SC. I was always a fan of Highlands. I'll have to get my family to send me a care package of beer. At least I replaced Highlands with Great Lakes!

I'm not a huge fan of their beers either other than the Black Mocha Stout. I made a trip down there last year and the hippy grocery store guy looked at me funny when I bought two cases of it.

I've really enjoyed everything of theirs I've tried. Unfortunately I don't see their stuff that often down here. The Gaelic Ale really surprised me. I've been keeping an eye out for it ever since I first had it.

I enjoy most of their beers. Cold Mountain Winter Ale is by far the best but you can only get it at Bars and Restaurants. Black Mocha Stout is probably my favorite of all of them.

They are having a homebrew competition and the best of show gets their beer brewed for sale in Asheville. I hope I win!
