I think there was probably a misunderstanding. I would have been suspicious of a $10 difference between their price and your LHBS. Definitely sounds like a misunderstanding. Besides, I'm not sure I would have driven an hour and a half when I could have had them ship it for $8.

I love 'em. I'm still gonna do business with 'em!!

55# sacks of grain are not available online at AHS, just in-store...I just looked and they have 50# boxes of grain for $59.99 (a significant markup over cost) to cover shipping.

It's just not cost feasible to ship large quantities of grain via UPS/FedEx.

I thought this thread wasn't going to be highjacked?

I have agreed to make it up to him. Is it really still an issue?

I have a staff of people to handle price quotes. I made the mistake of trying to quote a price when I wasn't at work to look it up.

I should have directed him to the store instead of trying to quote a price on a forum private message.

It was a mistake.

Forrest

No issue. I certainly wasn't expecting anything, but I appreciate the effort on your part to resolve this matter.

Another reason why I love Austinhomebrew:

I forgot to include the discount code for the 50 state sale (AZ was yesterday) - I pm'ed Forrest, he responded in about 10 minutes and took care of the discount.

Ordered Tuesday afternoon and it's set to be delivered Friday with the flat rate shipping option!

Thanks Forrest

Forrest, thanks for sending the t-shirt and cocktail shaker...

Unfortunately, my dogs pulled the t-shirt off the table and decided to play tug-of-war with it.

Yesterday I placed my first order with AHS. All-grain pumpkin ale kit. OK, Forrest, here is your opportunity to gain another satisfied customer. I hope this will be the start of a long and happy relationship.

I got a delivery from Austin Home Brew yesterday. Pumpkin Ale kit plus some odds & ends. When going through my box I noticed the caps were left out of the order. It was not a big deal to me, because I knew I would be ordering again from them before the pumpkin would be ready to bottle.
I figured I'd call, so when I place my next order, they can send me the caps. I told the guy on the phone, it was no big deal, and just note
my accout for next time. Last night I got an email with a tracking number for the caps being sent.
That is customer service. He is paying to ship caps to me that are only worth $1.59 to keep a happy customer. Even though I told them it was not necessary.
Dave
