I want to formulate my first recipe and I'd like it to be a milk stout. However, Beersmith doesn't have the guidelines for a milk stout. What should I be looking for as far as color, IBU's, ABV, etc?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Milk stouts are also known as sweet stouts. The "milk" part comes from using lactose as a sweetener. http://www.bjcp.org/styles04/Category13.php
