I've brewed a few gallons now and not sure if any of my brews exhibit chill haze. Since my 3rd brew i have been using Irish moss and do see proteins settling in my hydrometer test tube when i make my sg draw. Since these proteins settle out and i also secondary my brews i don't think i've seen the haze and am curious what it looks like. When i chill my bottles the beer is still clear to see through but when i pour i can't see through it.
Hmmm i think mine def have the haze then but is it hard to tell with darker ales? The lightest i've made so far has been a cream ale but most have been ipa or darker. My kolsch is still in secondary so haven't had a chance yet to determine. I'm also drinking from a guiness pint glass eon't know if it makes a difference.
Would the haze occur in the bottle when chilled? Once opened and poured? Does it happen with extract brewing? I know i don't chill fast it takes around 30 minutes in cold water bath for my wort to get pitch temp.
