Default What do you look for in a Homebrew Club?

As far as I'm aware, there is no homebrew club in my home town. I would like to start one. I have run into several people near me who homebrew, but there is no formal organization. What does your local homebrew club do for you? what kind of organizational structure does it have? Do you have any recommendations for events?

Is it as simple as getting together to share beer and talk about brewing?

Thanks in advance!

It can be simple or not.

Visit a lot of homebrew club websites to see what they're up to.

I like getting good feedback on my beer, more than just "this tastes good" or "I'm not a fan".

One club that I go to has a style each month where we talk about the style characteristics and taste commercial examples, followed by homebrews of that style that members brought in. So, it's a good way to get experience with a lot of styles and the variety of beers within a particular style.
