Default Want to bottle from keg

I have this Special Bitter that is cabonating at 8 PSI which should yield 2.47 at my temp. I would like to bottle some of this brew with the BMBF. Would it be a good idea to up the carb level for a couple of days to account for a carb loss at bottling? Or should I just go with what I got and hope that the carb level evens out to match the style? What is the carb style for this beer? It seems when we were in England the ales were not that carbonated. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you keep the beer cold, you will not see much loss of carbonation during bottling as long as you get capped before they start to warm.
I don't know the carbonation levels off the top of my head for British beers, but I do understand it is lower.

Default Thanks for the quick reply

I'm hoping to bottle some of this suff this weekend. It tastes great to me and true to style, thus the desire to carbonate appropriately.

If you really want it carbed to style than you should be fine at your current level. Really Bitters are generally served at less than 2 vols. Slightly higher for bottle. Slightly higher yet for export to US.

So you are fine anywhere between where you are right now and where it will settle out once bottled and capped. No need to up it for bottling.

Don't worry about losing carb during the BMBF you'll be fine. Chill your bottles first to help reduce foaming. This will help keep foaming (co2 excaping) to a minimum.
