Brew outside and all you need is a hose to fix it.

Well it was a 2L starter in a 5qt kettle so I thought I was good (ish). I moved the pot over to a different burner and cleaned up most of the mess, but some of it burnt like rock real quick. Cermabrite and a scotch brite, and it's nice and shiny again!

Been there done that. You only drop the stir bar in after the boil starts once.

I brew outside on the gas burner but for a starter I don't bother with the big burner.
I do use a pot that's way big for the boil though.

Yup, it only takes a few seconds to happen. Glad mine was outside. Mine put out the burner too. Had to clean that before I could resume because it wouldn't burn properly.

Thats when I started canning starter wort. Now a starter only takes a couple minuets to put together.

I was thinking about doing that, but I don't have a pressure cooker/canner.

That would be a great way to do it.
I've never canned anything though and probably not going to learn just for this.
I have the pressure cooker and use it, just not for that.
