Default The Theory and Practice of Brewing - circa 1804

This is one of the earliest (if not the first?) books published on brewing ale/beer.

I found an online scan, and thought some of you might find it interesting. Since I've been homebrewing, I've really started to find the history of ale/beer very facinating.

Thanks.

I think I'll save that for later.

If you're interested in historical brewing, you might want to check out the following, available via Project Gutenberg (at http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/16441 )

Thanks for sharing the link. But I didn't readily find the chapter on sanitizing.

It would be interesting to see what people think of the brewing books we read in 200 years.

Thanks for the great link.

I hope everyone else has noticed that there is a clickable keyword entry ("brewing") that takes you to a page listing other valuable historic brewing references along with some scientific papers and other random detritus. Absolutely fascinating stuff.
