Can I stovetop pasteurize in PET bottles?
There is a warning on Better Bottle PET carboys that says not to exceed 140 F, so I would definitely say no.
Absolutely no... i made the mistake of putting water at about 145-150 degrees in my better bottle and it shrank and warped.
with the contents under pressure it will half melt and expand out into a weird swollen torpedo. not that i have ever tried this. oh wait, yes i have. don't!
you can try!!??? (may end up with smaller bottles).......... just rinse with sanatizing solution!
