Default So who's brewing this 4th of July weekend and what?

I'm going to do a wheat beer. Wife loves 'em so why not. Easy summer drinking beer and should be ready in time for my B-day in August.

2 row
wheat
carapils

Cascade

Whitelabs WLP001 or Wyeast 1056

Gonna call it "Uncle Sam's wheat beer" even though I would picture him drinking a imperial stout or barley wine and smashing the mug over the heads of any foreign or domestic threats.

I plan on brewing my first batch on Monday - the Irish Red kit that came with my Midwest groupon deal

I am going to try to, not sure if my new equipment will be in yet.

My next batch is an APA, flavor hopped with Saaz.

Oatmeal stout. My first all-grain batch, so wish me luck! Just finished putting my MLT together yesterday.

You will be fine. Watch your water temps and levels and sit back and enjoy the process, with a buzz of course.

Nothing for me this weekend as I'm waiting on my Braumeister to do my next few batches. I'm bottling some wine for the wife and partaking this weekend.

Assuming my order from Brewmasters arrives in time, I will be brewing up an Irish Red on the 4th.

You'll be fine and there is nothing more satisfying than turning grains, hops, yeast, and water to beer! One tip I can share as it was my mistake on my first few batches is to give it a good stir when you mash in! Why I didn't, I have no idea - even with that it became good, albeit slightly weak, beer. All of those ingredients WANT to become beer - it will be fine.
