Default Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

I've never been able to try this beer, why is it always rated so high?

Is there a great clone recipe? I've seen dozens but I'm not sure which to look at.

It's really just THE American pale ale. It's not "oh my god this is the best beer in the world" but it is a very solid and very tasty apa.

It's a great beer, one of my favorites. I just did a simple clone recipe that I found online and it came out awesome.

10# 2 row pale
1.25# crystal 60
Single infusion 152 for 60 min.
Batch sparge
.33 oz Magnum 60 min
.50 perle 30 min
1oz. Cascade 10 min
1oz cascade 0 min

I used wyeast 1056 with a starter and fermented for 10 days then kegged.

Forgot: 5.5 gal batch
O.G. 1.051
F.G. 1.011
60 min. Boil

+1

Northern Brewer has a clone, called Sierra Madre. My neighbor made this as an extract, and it was pretty good. The main differences were due to using extract rather than all grain. Here is the NB all grain version.
