I've been told before not to set a car battery directly on the ground, as it will drain the charge.
A carboy though? I bet that guy has some real entertainment value.

Good thing I have a thin layer of milk crate between mine...lol maybe I will add a little wood board for more protection and stability......

Instead of wood planks, I think the best way to combat Earth's energy is a specially made tin foil hat for each carboy.
