Checked hydrometer reading on my two batches I have going. They had only dropped to 1.036 both in my basement in 10 days. Decided to move them upstairs a week ago. Rechecked them today:
The orange rye porter is down to 1.019. Will keep swirling and hope it continues to drop.
My ginger snap ale was still 1.032. Smelled the hydro sample and smelled of vinegar. Tasted it and quickly spit it out. Vinegary as well. Not a fan of sours so not really looking to wait it out.
First five gallon batch that has went south on me in 30 plus batches. A sad start to 2013.
