Default Rice Hulls and Color Change???

SOMEWHERE, I saw an experiment.. Here on HBT? In a magazine? In a book? I can NOT find the article. I'm hoping one of you can. Someone did an experiment where they soaked rice hulls in hot water for different times and recorded w/pictures, the color of the water at different intervals.

I'd guess, from what little I can remember, is that if you are brewing al light colored beer and using rice hulls, you really need to boil the hulls for a period to remove the color from the hulls before using in the mash tun.

Help??? (I hope that question is clearer than mud.. )

Cheers, Bill
