Default this question has already been covered!

hey all, am i wrong here? every time i run a search when i have a brewing question, i'm happy to see so many results. in almost all of them, someone inevitably replies...

"this topic has been covered ad nauseum. i direct you to the following links..."

or

"have you tried the search feature at the top of the page?, there are at least 500 threads covering this EXACT SAME QUESTION!"

i personally like checking multiple results. what is the harm in reposting a question that has already been asked? if we noobies didn't, what the hell would you veterans have to talk about?

See the recent rules announcement by the admin:

Not up for discussion. "Use the search, noob" posts are no longer tolerated.

Yes, I realize the irony of my own post here.
