Default A question about Porters????

Are Porters traditionally lower in alcohol content?

they range from 4% to 9% depending on the subcategory.

Can be robust, baltic, brown, etc. Typically, your baltic porters are usually (but not always) stronger in alcohol.

The one I put in the fermenter yesterday (the Black Pearl Porter in the Recipe section) ended up with an OG of 1.064, and from the experience of others, I'm figuring on an FG of maybe 1.020. According to http://www.brewersfriend.com/abv-calculator/ that means an ABV of 5.78%.

i just made the black pearl porter also I believe is is more of a brown porter that would traditionally be a lower alcohol I think you are about right on
