Ph stabilizer

Normally when I brew I use purified drinking water...that being said... I've never used Ph stabilizer. This last batch I brewed which is dry hopping now I brewed with tap water and as a creature of habit it just occurred to me that I didn't use any stabilizer...is it it really that critical when brewing with tap water?
 
Really depends on your water. Have you ever had it tested?
Never tested...I've just always read that if it tastes okay...use it. However this opens a whole new perspective. If I had it tested what would I be looking for as to want to use Ph stabilizer?
