Default one week fermenting.

tomorrow will be the first week since i brewed up my first t.k. maple nut brown ale. my basement reads a steady low 60 temp. i have a good fermenting head on my glass carboy. the bubbling in the aerater seems to be slowing down a bit. from all i have read on this site, all is well.
i am thinking of picking up another carboy and getting another batch going soon.
great fun, good website!

Instead of buying one carboy, spend about the same amount of money and buy 2 plastic fermenter buckets with airlocks and get 3 batches going at once instead of just 2.

Congratulations on your first batch!

You definitely want to get another fermenter so you can keep the pipeline going. Either plastic buckets, plastic carboys or glass carboys work fine. I use glass carboys because they will last my lifetime (and beyond). But that's just a matter of preference.
