Lordy 40 Ale...40 ingredients. Whatcha think?
 
OK, here's the proposed recipe. I kept the hop schedule down because 4 of the 5 birthday celebrators don't like TOO much hop character (they aren't real big IPA fans, but like some lower IBU pale ales). I'm worried about a clash between the coffee and the clove/nutmeg spices. But other than that, I think it's a much more promising recipe than I had feared. There are only 35 ingredients listed, but the other 5 are going to be my tap water and 1 gallon each of 4 other brands of bottled water.

Opinions? Kudos? Rotten tomatoes?

Wow ... the bay leaf and marshmallow definitely caught my eye. Should be interesting to say the least.

looks like the ultimate "beginner strolled trough the brewshop with a shovel" recipe.

rather than clashing flavors, it will just taste brown.

think it will be quite drinkable as you have it.

...four brands of bottled water is a cop-out though.
...cracked rye?
...flaked corn?
...priming sugar?
...some rice?
....a pinch of pumpkin?

The hop schedule sounds right up my alley.

It needs some meat. Throw a little pork or veal in there. Something juicy. Like a butt roast and some sweetbreads. Or maybe some organ meats.
