Default long primary

It has been a long year. Last June I bought a honey ale kit, but then life got in the way. Then a few months back I brewed it, but then once more life got in the way. I plan on racking to a keg this weekend. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Primary for a year??

Even I would have found time to rack to secondary!

He bought it a year ago, but brewed it a couple of months ago. So I would say no worries.

Ah yes, my bad. I misread the OP's post.

I brewed an American Stout one time that sat on the yeast for about 4-5 months I think. Scored a 43.5 at a big local competition.

I have a feeling that certain beer styles, roasty, or maybe hoppy or both, tend to cover up a low amount of off-flavors from extended primary.

I'm curious to see how this one turns out.

Good luck with that, let us know how it turns out. Who knows, maybe you have discovered the key to making the world's best beer
