know anything about 1800's brewing?
|

I'm really obsessed with the history of beer lately. Can anyone point me to good sources? Tell me how the process has changed (if at all) in the past two hundred years? I just can't find much on anything from the nineteenth century

There is a beer history thread and a few threads on brewing period brews. I don't have the links. Have you tried using search or google? It is an interesting topic, good look.

Barclay Perkins won't help you, it covers ENGLISH breweries and beer.
My beer history site thread has a lot of links, there's several links on the first post to 1800's era brewing, since that's my area of interest. I'm also pretty sure there's links in there for Illinois/Chicago stuff as well.

If it covers England, Scotland and Ireland I'd imagine it covers Wales too.
