Default Its go time

Bringing the temp up on my mash water for my first AG batch.

I had a horrible horrible dream last night that I screwed this up. So I quickly double checked my volume math and did a last "sanitation look-over".

I'm ready as I'll ever be!

Haha, thanks.

I feel awesome after hitting my temp right on after grain addition. Couldnt do it that smooth again if I tried! (though I hope I'm wrong on that!)

Well, after hitting my mash temp, the process quickly went downhill.

I've learned that there is a huge difference between HITTING your mash temp and MAINTAINING your mash temp. I now know that once I get that temp and add grains, to turn the burner to low!

Also, I will not use nearly as much water again. I'm finding that its easier to add water than to boil all day to get rid of it.

Oh well, I expected a learning curve on this batch. Worst thing I'll do is make beer.
