Default Infection question

Do infections usually result in a beer tasting bad?
I'm not sure if a couple of batches were infected, or a result of my water chemistry.
My beer isn't bad, but more bitter, and tart, maybe a little sour, but not bad sour.
I've not seen any visible signs of infection. In fact it tasted great until it was bottled.
I did however, find some debris in my bottling wand after disassembling it after bottling those two batches.

It could be water, it could be recipe, it could be that they are just green. Infections are rarer than most new brewers think.

Read these threads and see.

Infections are a rairty.

If you taste any vinegary, slick characteristics, you've got an infection. If it's more like a green apple, sour apple taste its acetaldehyde

By the way Revvy, I was born and raised in Michigan(Detroit area) for 27 years and moved to Alabama.
Been living here for the last 14 years. I am an official "damn yankee."
I'm coming up in July to visit family.
Where is a good LHBS.

Debris is something you want to take care of, but does not mean that you've actually got an infection going.

Nasty, Very Sour, gushers... All signs of an infection.
