Not to pee on the parade, but someone brought a sixer of 2004 Samichlaus the homebrew club. He couldn't give it away. It was quite sweet and lacked much character other than sweetness. I dumped the small sample I had.
Incredibly sweet, but smooth as you could imagine given the 14% abv. For $20 a bottle I'm slightly disappointed to be honest. It's got a silky malt mouthfeel and really not much else. Crystal clear almost purplish color to it. I've got another bottle, and I think im going to just let it keep sitting.
Sorry to be the second one, but I also hate this beer. I've tried it a buncha times over the years and don't think it has anything going for it. It's strong, but that's it. No complexity, no finesse. Yuck.
