Default How would you get yeast in the wild?

Okay so since yeast have been consuming sugars and making the marvelously intoxicating liquid we all love so much I assume there must be a way to harvest yeast with out some sort of lab.

Does any one know how one could acquire yeast if they were stranded on an island or in some post-apocalyptic society?

Acquiring the right fermentables would be much tougher under these conditions.

I just stock my fallout shelter with a lifetime worth of dry yeast.

I guess my process still needs a little work before I try out my glowing lambic post-apocalyptic feral cat recipe.
