Default How to prevent beer from freezing?

I want to bring a bunch of homebrew with me for Christmas. Before I drive home my car will be outside for 4 days in Minneapolis(BTW, it's freakin' cold here). I was wondering if there is way to prevent the beer from freezing as it sits in my car for 4 days?

Put a thermometer in your car where the beer will be stored. What is the temp? You can use a box with blankets and various insulation.

Put em in a cooler and toss in a hand warmer. Worked for me!

Now that's a great idea.

I agree with the cooler part, but I'd use a couple of gallon jugs of warm water instead of the handwarmers. The water has way more thermal mass than the amount of thermal energy produced by those hand warmers. If you have a good cooler it will last.

Also, make sure the beer isn't cold when you put it in the cooler!

Don't put them in the car until you are ready to drive.
