You right it is. In all honesty, the reason people with young kids gain weight is mostly due to over eating. You get so little sleep that you feel tired then you end up snacking a lot during the day. It doesn't matter how healthy your meals are. I'm a vegetarian and my wife is lactose intolerant so our diet is pretty much fruits and vegetables. She does bake some awesome bread though.

When my office moved to HQ, and my commute increased from 2.2 miles to 12, the extra time in the car to myself each day did WONDERS for my mental health!

This. It is totally true. But getting a little amount of sleep, and work stress along with high energy kids means I eat more. I drink less than I did before kids, and limit my alcohol consumption considerably because a hangover with screaming children is the worst day of your life. Its the quick to make crap food I eat, and snacks that do me in.

I third this. The only thing keeping me healthy is my wife doing lots of healthy cooking.
