I'm a brewer, and a pretty tough little lady. But if I was selling an old keg on craigslist, the LAST thing I would do is depressurize and empty the keg for a young guy. The beer will stink, and spray all over everything, plus the keg is heavy! I'm sure she's selling it because she doesn't want to empty it and sell it for scrap, as she doesn't want to mess around with it.
The keg might weigh 80 pounds or so if it's half full. If you can carry a bag of dogfood, you can pick up the darn keg. If she doesn't care if you spray the beer onto her yard, depress the valve and spray it out before you lift it if it's too heavy for you.
