Default Hops, domestic vs. imported

Hi, I have a recipe that calls for East Kent Golding, but hopsdirect.com doesn't import that particular variety. Instead they grow a domestic version, US Golding leaf hops. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience in domestic varieties of hops typically grown somewhere else, and if I can use this variety of Golding in my recipe and still achieve similar results?

The UK Goldings have a finer aroma quality IMO but the US version makes a good sub.

I am currently subbing UK with US and it's just fine. You might be able to notice a difference if all other aspects of your brewing were completely consistent. Realistically though you probably won't know the difference.

I wonder how the difference between the UK and US versions match up to differences between yearly crops.
