Default Hop growing

Anybody here grow their own hops? I was wondering what kind of sunlight the different varieties need, what kind of yield you can expect, and if they smell like hops when they are growing.

I tried this year and the crop failed. I intend to try again.

Not much of a smell while growing. Even in the middle of a hop farm, the smell isn't strong.
One of the more complete listings of hop types, growth characteristics and yields.

http://www.freshops.com/usda_hop_desc2.html

[OSU keeps redesigning their site, so it is tough to find their list directly.]
