Default Homebrew challenge: oatmeal raisin beer...could it be done?

My roommate last night walked into the kitchen while I was pouring myself an IPA, and he said "Oh man, I forgot I have homemade oatmeal raisin cookies, I'm going to have one!" And I said "I wish I could have one, but I just poured a beer, and they probably won't taste good together." So then he says "Well you're Mr. Brewer, make a beer that tastes like oatmeal raisin cookies."

That really got me thinking...can it be done? There are some yeasts that end with raisin-y flavors, right? And I don't think oatmeal can be used as a base grain, but could you add enough of it to impart the oatmeal flavor? And then add all the spices and other crap that goes into oatmeal raisin cookies?

It would probably end up VERY weird. But I'm really intrigued...reading that DFH article really got me thinking about the ridiculous possibilities of what beer can taste like...

What do you guys think? Any suggestions as to a recipe? I don't have an all-grain set-up, so extract and steeped grains only.

Not sure but it would be a "blond" beer with a lot of mouthfeel - carapils or light crystal malt. Biscuit malt for the bready taste of cookies. Yeast would be an ester producer fermented at a high temp for fruity character. Backsweetened with lactose.

Probably best to run some parallel fermentations in gallon jugs under different conditions for tweaking.
