Default Help me understand my water profile?

I'm trying to determine if my tap water I'd decent for brewing. The only water report I could find is posted at http://ci.santa-rosa.ca.us/doclib/Do...rt%20FINAL.pdf but I don't understand what I'm looking at in this report.

My choices are either tap water, or I can make ro/di water (which I understand isnt ideal) from the filtration unit I use for my reef tank.

I usually drink the ro/di water, but the tap water doesn't taste bad.

Tap. For realz. Consider pushing it through a carbon filter first.

It looks pretty good for brewing, but you'll want to remove the chlorine with either a carbon filter (e.g. Brita) or campden tablets. I haven't tried campden in my brewing water (I use it for sanitizer solution all the time), but many people have had good results. There are other methods of chlorine removal, but I'm not too familiar with them or their effectiveness.

If you're looking for more advanced topics, you may want to consider adjusting the water profile for the style of beer you're brewing. Here's a pretty good primer:

You can also do a search for the EZ water calculator by TH, which is really popular. I use it as a starting point for adjusting my pH.
