Hi,
anyone know of an home brew store within easy reach from the centre of New York. I have tried looking om the web but can not find any , for example in the downtown region, they all seem 30 miles or so away .
thanks Ian .

There are no home brew shops in NYC. I know that sounds strange but they are all gone. The closest one you will find is on Horace Harding Blvd. in Queens however, they cater mostly to hydroponic gardening and have a very limited supply ( I have more stuff in my basement ). You have to take a trip out to Karp's on Long Island.

I usually head out to Corrados in Clifton, NJ.

They have a pretty good selection, though they favor wine making. Cant comment on their grain or hops selection though as I have only made kits to this point.

and yeah, its like 30 miles away, but a quick drive over the bridge as long as there is no yankee game....

Dont know of anything good in the city but if you have to leave the city anyway you might look at this place http://www.cornells.com/index.cfm?s=5&p=4
310 White Plains Rd (Route 22) in Eastchester, NY
I havent had a chance to go there yet but there online selection doesnt look to bad.

Thanks everyone,
I think I'll order from Karps and have them deliver to my hotel while I'm in NY as I wont have time to shop around great brewing to you all !
