Default Froze Beer after Fermentation - throw a haze?

I was chilling down my booze after fermentation and before kegging and it got a little frozen.

1) Will this cause it to throw a haze?? I've heard that before...

2) If Yes to #1, will filtering it take the haze out? Trying to decide if I want to waste a pad on this sucker.....

Yes, it can throw a haze. Many soluble proteins do not like to be frozen, and will precipitate upon thawing. When working with proteins in the lab, I have to add some glycerol to the buffer the protein(s) is in to keep them stable. Obviously, you can't do this for beer.

It will clear given some time.
