First batch bottled

Well, not my "first" batch, but my first one in over 5 years. I just got back into brewing after a had-3-kids-and-no-time hiatus. Brewed a simple APA to get my feet wet again. After 3 weeks in the primary I bottled it today and it tastes absolutely wonderful. Clean, nicely bitter, a little bit of residual sweetness from the crystal. I am very, very pleased and I'm so happy to be back at it! Now the toughest part - waiting two weeks to crack one open. Next batch will be a Dusseldorf Alt. I love this obsession, er, I mean hobby!

Great to hear you are back in it, after the hiatus. I would wait a bit longer; say 3 weeks, to make sure it is ready. Get yourself some commercial beer to wait it out....

I agree, 3 weeks even 4. Makes a world of difference that little extra time. Turns an ok beer into great.
