Default Fermentation Chamber?

I have a chest freezer that I want to turn into a fermentation chamber. My idea is to use the Johnson analog controller for the freezer. Then, use a fermwrap heater connected to a digital controller on my carboy inside the freezer. I'd set the freezer to about 40 F, and the fermwrap to my desired fermentation temp. What do you guys think? Has anyone used this method? Thanks, and happy brewing!!

not sure why you dont just raise the temp of the freezer or just stick to lagers. I havent tried this but i have a feeling this setup could be terribly inefficient.

I am not sure but it seems from your post that you will have your fermentation chamber in an area where you will have temps where you will sometimes have to cool and sometimes have to warm the chamber - correct?

If so, you can purchase a Johnston dual controller that will do both of these things. Turn your freezer down as low as it will go and control it with the Johnston. Use some type of heater in the chamber and also control it with the Johnston.
