I was thinking that but how is boiling in a tiny amount of water better than the 2.5 gals called for? Seems counterintuitive.

So has anyone thought about making a 10 gal batch of pale ale using this kit? The last DIPA kit I made took me a long time to drink whereas I can can drink pale ales all day

The recipe seems to contain about double what many pale ale recipes contain (1 lb grains vs 0.5 lb grains, 6 lbs extract vs 3 lbs extract, 6 oz hops vs 3 oz hops).

Anyone know how it would be? Would I keep the hop schedule the same? Any other changes besides adding more water?

My big barleywine is in secondary on oak right now. I'll probably bottle in a few weeks and let them sit at least 6 months before I crack the first one. Gravity samples taste awesome, residual sweetness balanced by the big hop bill. Can't wait to taste the finished product.
