Dead Guy Ale
Does Rogue still bottle-condition Dead Guy with Pacman? I can't tell from their site.
|
Look here....We've kinda gone back and forth on it...
http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f36/dead-guy-ale-pacman-yeast-83297/?highlight=Pacman If you are looking to bottle harvest some PACMAN....most of us have had more success using Shakespeare Stout and others in bombers....The ones with the yeast in the bottles actually use the words Pac Man on the silkscreened label |
Being a yeast novice I'm a bit puzzled as to why everyone wants this Pacman yeast....
Does it create desirable flavors or something like that? |

Nuts. Oh well, thanks Rev. Guess I'll go get some SS to make a starter.

It's iffy...some say they have had success, I've always just saved the DG dregs and pitched it with SS or one of the other ones as a backup. |
I put the dregs from 2 bottles of DG in with some DME Monday night and have had no activity or hydrometer action, so I'm guessing there was nothing there to begin with.

Brewmasters Warehouse has it available in case you are not successful and want to try it. I just ordered some myself to try Yooper's DHF 60 Minute IPA clone.
|
I drank most of a Hazelnut Brown and capped off the rest, planning on trying to toss it into a starter and see what happens.
