Default cylinder exchange score!

I had my 5# green steel tank exchanged and scored a shiny silver aluminium one.
The exchange cost $14 though which I think is a bit higher than usual.

What do ya'll pay for an exchange?

I used to deal with a little mexican place that recently shut it's doors. They would charge 11 and change for a fill and that included tax. The next best price was Farrell and they were 14.05 a fill. Now I'm with Amerigas and they are closer to 12 for a fill. I don't do exchanges as that's a racket/ripoff.

$8 at airgas in my area.

I went to a family owned local place and they charged me $12 plus a hazmat fee... I dont think CO2 warrants a hazmat fee.

Amerigas? Are you talking about Propane? You might want to check what this thread is about.

pay about $18 for the 5 lb and $22 for the 20lb . So the 5er gets very little use. I have found that if you just ask the guy if they have aluminum tanks they are happy give you them for a steel tank. I think the steel tanks are used in garage's and commercial use more often the aluminum.
