Default Crap. Infected Dunkelweiss

Went to keg an 8 gallon batch, it smells and tastes a little like vinegar.

Crap.

Had an 8 gallon batch go bad about this time last year. Looks like I am running one in 25 or so that goes bad.

I had a bad feeling about that yeast. It didn't smell bad, but it didn't look right.

what yeast did you use? I did a dunkelweiss about a year ago with Danstar Munich... ended up smelling like apple cider vinegar.... bottled it anyway... wish i hadn't.

Would have been way easier to just pour out the fermenter than opening each beer and then dumping it after a couple sips.

still have 1/2 a case of the stuff, but just can't drink it.

I thought this batch might go off. I used a jar of washed 3068 that had been through several generations. It never did squat. After a day or so of NO activity (generally, 3068 takes off immediately), I pitched in a jar of washed 3638.

I think the 3068 was bad. It did not smell, but it did look funny. I should not have used it.

I haven't dumped the kegs yet, but I figure I will in the end. No rush, maybe it will age out. But, based on experience, it will only get worse.
