Craft Beer Scene in Detroit

Over this last weekend was the 2nd annual fall beer festival in Downtown Detroit. My first thoughts of the weekend are WOW, what a great event. They had a great showing of the very best of what Michigan had to offer. I was impressed with how smoothly everything went. They had a ton of port o johns, water stations, and good food. All the Breweries I wanted to see were there, with some amazing brews. I showed up at 1pm with the tickets I bought on line ahead of time, but my knuckle head buddies decided they would buy theirs at the event, well it was SOLD OUT! So they had walk up and down the line looking for extra tickets, they did find some 20 mins later.
So if anyone was there over the weekend, and wants to share what they thought of it, please do.......

And a lot of us get together pretty regularly. We brew together or hit the brewpubs quite a lot. There a half dozen active hombrew clubs (or more) in the metro detroit area. I think there are 8-10 fairly large BJCP contests a year. Plus we're pretty active for both the AHC big brew days with several places hosting event with a ton of folks.
This should give you an idea it's from the one we had in May. It is only 1 of 6 events I knew of that day happening within a 20 minute drive of each other. This one is at cap n cork in macomb, which is about a 30 minute drive from downtown detroit.
