Dang, I thought I was getting 2 row cheap, 39 bucks for a 50 lb bag. Where do you get yours?

Problem is that too much homebrew has me playing Russian Roulet with my briefs.

Fair enough, my LHBS says what I'm getting is coming from Washington.

$9.76 for a 5 gal batch of APA. That includes $5.76 for 8 lbs of 2-row and $4 for specialty grains (1 lb of Crystal 40 and 1 lb of Munich). Hops are always free (my Dad produces lbs/year of everything imaginable) and the yeast was reused.

I get it from brewbrothers.

http://brewbrothers.biz/brewcart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=26_37

they are great people. Family owned and opperated and they are in the process of opening a brewery and tasting room as well. some of the best prices anywhere.

But, yeah we are pretty lucky here. Great western malting is right across the river And, we're right near hop country

Shouldn't this be cost per point? I could brew a 5 gallon batch with one pound of grain for cheap, it just wouldn't be worth drinking. A 70 point beer will cost more than a 40 point, but they could have identical cost per point. Otherwise we're comparing apples and crab apples.

You go to MainBrew don't you? I just went there and picked up 100lbs for $55. Here at my LHBS it would cost $100 for 100lbs.

MainBrew is awesome as they have a bottle shop, keg sales, and growler fills as well. But, IMO Brewbrothers is better and cheaper for home brew supplies, it's only about a mile or 2 away from MainBrew. I think the MainBrew guys are maybe a little more knowledgeable as far as wine making though.
